So, who are you wearing tonight? is a question celebrities love to answer, as they show off their designer tags at red carpet events with a practiced pose and not forgetting that dazzling smile pat in place. And the recent V&A Golden Age of Couture Gala hosted by Alexandra Shulman, John Galliano and Daphne Guinness in London was no different.
Amidst a sea of Chanels, Puccis and Givenchys one person stood out in her long, black, fishtail dress with a beaded ‘V’ neck halter, embellished with Chinese silk thread, paisley motifs, swarovski crystals and French caviar beads. We’re talking about Jade Jagger who simply said, It’s an Azeem Khan creation!
Being good friends with rocker Mick Jagger’s 35-year-old daughter for over five years, Azeems says that Jade was always asking him to design something for her and the V&A Gala provided the perfect opportunity.

Jade is a very dear friend and she mentioned to me that she wanted to wear something exotic, says Azeem, who put together the outfit for the entrepreneur-cum-aspiring singer in a matter of days. It sure is a matter of great pride for me to be amongst the world’s best couturieres and it was a pleasure to have designed for Jade. I feel she did complete justice to my creation.
In fact, Azeem recently played host to Jade when she was in Mumbai a few weeks ago for her fitting. She loves India and Indian food, especially Malwani cuisine that she couldn’t get enough of! says Azeem, who also reserves a villa in Goa whenever Jade comes visiting which he adds is quite often. She lives in Ibiza, Spain and simply loves how similar Goa is to home.
